AMYLOIDOSIS 2023
Workshops and Educational Meetings

The Australian amyloidosis workshops are a biennial event providing interactive workshops for both Health Professionals and Patients, Family and Carers (PFC) alike. The goal of these workshops is to raise awareness and to provide education, support and updates on diagnostics and therapy.

Expert international speakers have been invited to tour Australia holding state-based single day workshops alongside Australian speakers. The Health Professional workshops and the PFC workshops have run together in parallel, at the same location on the same day.

For the first time the Amyloidosis 2023 roadshow will include smaller educational meetings to support targeted groups and these will be held in Canberra and Hobart.

This year we are proud to announce our first invited international patient advocate, Isabelle Lousada. Isabelle is the President and CEO of the Amyloidosis Research Consortium (ARC) and a pioneering health advocate who has successfully brought stakeholders together (including patients, health professionals, government agencies and the pharmaceutical industry) to improve access to amyloidosis therapy in the USA.

The Melbourne PFC Workshop will be livestreamed for patients who cannot attend their local PFC Workshops. The recording will be made available at a later date for any of the PFC meeting attendees.

The Western Australia workshop will be a hybrid event incorporating a livestream of the international speakers from the Melbourne workshop who will also conduct one on one virtual interactive sessions with the Western Australian audiences.
