End of Financial Year Donation Appeal

Over 1000 Australians are currently being treated for amyloidosis – but did you know than an estimated 30,000 Australians are living with amyloidosis but are yet to be diagnosed?

Many people have never heard of amyloidosis. It can be difficult to explain amyloidosis to friends and relatives. And it’s tricky to pronouce. Many patients see multiple specialists before the diagnosis is made, meaning treatment is delayed. And the journey can be lonely, just like Arpit describes in his story:

The Australian Amyloidosis Network wants to improve the awareness, diagnosis and treatments of amyloidosis, while improving support to patients.

We are working together to:

  • Improve access to more Amyloidosis Clinics so patients can be seen more quickly by experienced medical specialists
  • Establish a national Amyloidosis Patient Telephone Support Service so patients and families can access the support they need regardless of where they live
  • Establish a confidential ATTR Amyloidosis Patient Registry so we can research Australian patients to improve treatments and patient outcomes
  • Raise awareness amongst doctors and health professionals and push government for financial assistance, so amyloidosis is recognised early on

We invite all our patients and family members, friends and health care professionals to join us in living our motto “Working together, Seeking a Cure” for amyloidosis.

We are holding an End of Financial Year Donation Appeal. We would be incredibly appreciative of your support. All donations are tax deductible.

We hope that you can circulate this appeal to your family members and friends or anyone who you think could help us.

Every patient affected by amyloidosis will benefit from your donation. Your generosity is so appreciated. It will help us continue our patient education programs, our “Cuppa with Cath” support group, our educational website, and our Facebook page while the number of diagnoses continue to grow. We are at the tip of the iceberg.

Please use the link below before June 30 so we can continue to research and raise awareness of amyloidosis together.
