Kidney Action Week
Aug 10, 2026 - Aug 17, 2026
Kidney Action Week is coming!
Save the date: 10 – 17 August 2026
We all know kidney disease is not talked about enough in public, so this August you’ll see us making some noise. We’re launching a simple, honest and bold campaign to put kidney disease on the map and get people talking.
The missing piece is urine testing. Whatever you call it—a wee, a wizz, a tinkle, piddle, or piss—a simple piss test can detect kidney disease early. In fact, twice as many people present with protein leakage in their urine as with a reduced eGFR in their blood.
So, we want more everyday Aussies to ‘take the piss’. We’re going to get the conversation started with a song that’s sure to get stuck in people’s heads, get them to their GPs and, ultimately, save lives.
We’ll provide more information soon on how you can get involved, get an event pack for your stall or morning tea, get your GP to join the national educational webinar, and so much more.
For now, if you have a story about a missed diagnosis because piss was not tested from the start and would like to get involved in the campaign, share it with us at kidney.org.au/your-story
