World Amyloidosis Day 26th October, 2026
Oct 26, 2026
World Amyloidosis Day October 26.
A Day for Focusing on Our Carers
Carers are an essential part of the amyloidosis care team.
This World Amyloidosis Day, the Australian Amyloidosis Network (AAN) will dedicate the day to recognising, listening to and valuing the people who care for those living with amyloidosis.
We invite you to join a 2 hour virtual interactive session from 2pm to 4pm AEDT focusing on the carers
Registering for this meeting is vital.
Please watch here for the instructions to do so and more information about the meeting.
Carers are not on the sidelines of amyloidosis care. They are an essential part of the care team.
Amyloidosis can change the lives of the person diagnosed — but it also changes the lives of those closest to them. Partners, spouses, family members and friends often become carers, advocates, coordinators, supporters and companions through diagnosis, treatment and the uncertainty that can accompany living with a rare and complex disease.
We see you. We hear you. We value you.
Because amyloidosis affects more than one person — and caring should never mean caring alone.
Join us online this World Amyloidosis Day and help us celebrate our carers.
AAN foundation member Pat Neely AM will lead a series of personal conversations with carers supporting loved ones with ATTR wild-type, hereditary ATTR and AL amyloidosis.
Pat will explore what life is really like as a carer — the challenges, rewards, emotional impact, healthcare journey and the support carers need.
The event will conclude with an interactive Q&A, giving all online attendees the opportunity to ask questions and share their experiences.
