The AAN holds workshops for doctors and health professionals and patients and families every 2 years.
In 2020 COVID prevented some face to face meetings and much of the program was presented virtually.
In May 2023 the AAN plans to run face to face meetings in the Australian capital cities and have one streamed meeting for those who cannot get to the city venues. Watch this space for more information.

Our International Speakers
Isabelle Lousada, CEO and President, Amyloidosis Research Consortium
Isabelle Lousada is an experienced non-profit board director and pioneer in patient advocacy. Isabelle has designed and led innovative, global programs; connecting doctors, researchers, patients and International corporations to build meaningful communities. Over the past two decades, her work has led to positive outcomes for patients, families and the wider medical community.
As an amyloidosis survivor, Isabelle possess deep degrees of empathy for those directly affected by the disease as well as those dedicated to finding a cure. Isabelle’s training as an architect influences her work from everything to vision, execution and team building.
Dr Murielle Roussel, Haematologist and Amyloidologist, Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Limoges, France
Dr Roussel is one of France’s foremost experts in myeloma and AL amyloidosis. She is author of >100 international journal articles, and has coordinated many of the IFM’s trials in myeloma and AL amyloidosis. Dr Roussel is leading the collaborative French-Australian trial with Dr Gibbs regarding the use of isatuximab with pomalidomide and dexamethasone for the treatment of relapsed or refractory AL amyloidosis. Murielle is well known to Australian’s audiences, having participated in an online debate about myeloma treatment to Australian physicians, and was a guest speaker at the national Blood conference in Perth several years ago.
