The Australian amyloidosis workshops are a biennial event providing interactive education and support forums for both health professionals as well as patients, their families and carers.
Our speakers previously travelled around Australia holding State-based single day workshops. This year due the COVID 19 pandemic the Health Professionals and Patient and Carer Workshops will be held on two separate dates.
The Patients and Carers workshop is to be held on National Amyloidosis Day May 8th in six cities across Australia and conducted as COVID safe face-to-face meetings. There will be in-person domestic speakers and our international experts have provided pre-recorded updates as well as answers to pre-submitted questions. For patients and carers who cannot attend their State’s “in-person” event the Melbourne Patients and Carers meeting will also be webcast as a livestream event. Patients across Australia can register for the live stream event alone. All face-to- face meeting registrants will gain access to the Melbourne event.
The Health Professionals Amyloidosis Workshop will be conducted entirely as a livestream webcast on Saturday 22nd February. The program will include interactive question and answer sessions with our invited international experts Professor Claudio Rapezzi and Professor Morie Gertz.
All registrants will be able to access the webcasts of Melbourne’s Patient and Carers Workshop as well as the Health Professionals Workshop on the AAN website after the events.
