The AAN was very proud to run inaugural AGM on 24th November. It signified a lot to us and reminded us of how far we come as an organisation.
We invited Professor Philip Hawkins to attend. Professor Hawkins’ speech was moving and inspiring. For those of you who unaware, Philip established the world leading National Amyloidosis Centre in London.
The NAC is a national referral centre that provides a one stop diagnostic and management service for anyone with any type of amyloidosis in the UK. The NAC is a vibrant and productive research centre and Professor Hawkins and his team developed the SAP scan which can monitor the load of amyloid in the body. They also developed an amyloid clearing drug combination (miridesap and anti-SAP).
